Leaders who are paying attention to the nation’s pulse know how important it is to recognize human differences. Whether you are a novice or advanced leader, it is imperative to have the skills and mindset to promote a workplace culture of safety and belonging. Instead of feeling ill-equipped to manage cultural differences, you can invest in your growth to effectively attract, recruit, support, and retain staff that champion your mission, vision, and values.
Drawing on over 25 years of international experience and touchpoints with tens of thousands of people, Phyllis will introduce you to the Intercultural Development Continuum. You will have time for intentional reflection, self-assessment, and strategizing next steps for increased intercultural competence. Examine how your life experiences and culture help or hinder your interactions and successes. The world needs empathic and inclusive leaders — the intercultural competence you learn in this wholeSOUL™ workshop can help you become one.
Phyllis Braxton approaches potentially trauma-triggering topics with a sense of humor and deep reverence for our human complexity. Our recent past and present world events have taught us that conflict will find its way to everyone’s doorstep. Your readiness to effectively and empathetically reconcile discord, especially across cultural differences, demands confidence and competence in the personal and professional realms. Whether your conflict is recent or historical, personal or professional, the time is always right to maintain mental wellness and balance.
In this embodied educational experience, Phyllis uses her trauma-informed lens to help you understand how our interpretation of conflict can exacerbate an already challenging situation. Learn how culture influences your preferred communication style and how to manage interpersonal differences more effectively. By understanding these concepts, you will see a pathway to mend and heal relationships where conflict has created a divide.
Living a Full Life
In wholeSOUL™ Living, Phyllis shares how she has learned to practice critical factors from over 25 years of international experience and touchpoints with tens of thousands of people. Her most vulnerable losses have led to these seven critical factors of life that she attributes to saving her family, career, sanity, and spirit. This process ultimately taught her to live a full life, moment by moment, and learn more quickly that losses are our divine life lessons.
