In May 2012, Miraval unveiled a brand new, state-of-the-art spa—the Miraval Life in Balance Spa. The new spa features the sustainable design and innovation brought by Clodagh design and Mithun Architectures who developed the LEED silver-certificated Catalina rooms and the Villas of Miraval. Combined with exclusive treatments, the new spa is designed to transform guests both physically and emotionally using nurture, rest and the magic of the desert landscape.

In 2016, the resort completed a multi-million dollar renovation that unveiled fully refreshed guestrooms, a state-of-the-art fitness center and updated spaces throughout the resort.Also in 2016, Miraval embarked upon a period of expansion, beginning with the opening of the Miraval Life in Balance Spa at Monarch Beach Resort in Dana Point, CA.

ke Elsass, Artist: An abstract, spiritual painter who uses rusted sheets of steel in his work to represent strength, life’s elements, aging, imperfection and beauty. Elsass was handpicked by internationally-known designer Clodagh to work on the new Miraval Life in Balance Spa.

Margaret Boozer, Artist: Margaret Boozer lives and works in the Washington, DC metro area. She received a BFA in sculpture from Auburn University and an MFA in ceramics from New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University. Her work is included in the collection of the Smithsonian American Art Museum, The Museum of the City of New York, The US Department of State, The Wilson Building Public Art collection and in many private collections. Boozer taught for ten years at the Corcoran College of Art and Design before founding Red Dirt Studio in Mt. Rainier, MD where she directs a ceramics and sculpture seminar. Recent projects include a commissioned installation at the US Embassy in Djibouti and writing a chapter forU. S. Geologic Survey’s Soil and Culture. Recent exhibitions include Swept Away: Dust, Ashes and Dirt at the Museum of Arts and Design in New York. She is especially proud of receiving the 2012 Arts Excellence Award from the Prince Georges Arts and Humanities Council at their inaugural Arts Gala Awards.
